Flamenco Dance Class (Beginner)

Class Description:
Introduction class for students that are new to flamenco.  No previous knowledge of flamenco dance or music is required.  This class will introduce students to the basic rhythms and dance forms of flamenco. Students will learn fundamental flamenco dance techniques including braceo (arms), floreo (fingers), posture (torso) and zapateado (footwork). The basic goal is coordination of movement. It is also an integrated music class whereby students learn palmas (handclapping) rhythms for different songs and jaleo (shouts of encouragement).

The class is for women 16 years and up (younger girls are welcome with permission of the instructor)
Shoes: closed shoes with thick heel (character/ballroom shoes recommended).
(We can not use real Flamenco shoes because they have nails on the toe and heel that will damage the floor)
Clothes: comfortable clothes such as yoga pants or wide skirt and t-shirt, tank top, or leotard.

Flamenco Dance Performance Class (Intermediate)

Pre-Req: Flamenco Beginners Level - or permission of instructor

Instructor: Denisse Gomez

Duration: Six Weeks

Day and Time: TBS

Cost: $60 single

Class Description:

This class will be focused on intermediate/advanced flamenco dance techniques which will be applied to a choreographed routine that will be learned throughout the 6 weeks.

Shoes: closed shoes with thick heel (character/ballroom shoes recommended).
(We can not use real Flamenco shoes because they have nails on the toe and heel that will damage the floor)
Clothes: comfortable clothes such as yoga pants or wide skirt and t-shirt, tank top, or leotard.
